Should we be worried about “the employment numbers”? Growth in jobs is a matter of concern because it is part of the “grow or die” mentality economists have.  

More importantly, is working for someone else is good as it gets?

Labour activists have been complaining about "working for the man" else since at least the late 1800s. Getting beyond slogans, we would have to agree it’s problematic to be so dependent on our employers – aka the 1% - for, not just work but our lives.
